July 2015 news

Update.
May was pretty uneventful overall.  Dull days and a few sunny days but lots of damp days as well.  A few birds got caught but we let them fly off again to tell their relatives not to be so silly as to get caught!  Mice were few and far between but there was the odd shrew.

June produced a novelty!  A very small and skinny addition to the family named Willie.
He was born on 16.4.2015, On arrival he was very much a weakling but within twenty four hours had almost doubled in weight and found his muscles.  Tipsy put him in him place very firmly, at the bottom of the pile!  However, he accepted his role but did not let it hinder his appetite or playfulness.  He continued to grow, especially his tummy,

and he found his feet and became more brazen with each day.  He adopted Tipsy as a “role model” but she kept him firmly in his place with numerous ‘cuffs’ around his ears!
At nearly three months old he has almost completely been accepted in the family although Fif’ treats him as some sort of interloper!

End of April notes

The end of April has not been fantastic weather at all.
What's my cover doing here?
It has rained a lot and we have been stuck inside rather than get soaked!
I'm sure there's something in here
However, yesterday achieved one black redstart and another mouse
caught but eventually released to live another day.  Today is better
and the outlook is improving.  We all hope May will be fine and sunny as we have guests!

14th April. 2015

Mid April and the temperature has risen to over 30 degrees,  The sun is up and the days are lengthening.   The birds are twittering, but not on the internet yet, and the blackcaps are back from Africa along with the black redstarts!  Evening recreation is confined to the numerous types of mice.  Three in the last three days and here is the last
before he returned to the wild!  It is certainly a bit too hot for extraneous exercise during the day but the plants have to get watered and the grass mown – ho hum it’s all go here,

Back to wet wet wet again.  However, we have had a visitor

who has left us evidence of his visit!

I will keep a lookout for him.

April's |Fools Day

It's the first of April and spring has sprung.  The black redstarts have returned from Africa and are perching on all the poles and  trees!  I wonder what they make of the improvements since they were last here.  More trees to sharpen my claws upon! The warn weather is back, even if a little damp!  We will see if the mouses are around.  The lizards are too slow and easy prey.  Back to the hunt,

Friday, March 6, 2015

Spring appears to have arrived at last as the temperature has risen to 24 degrees at midday.  However the daffodils have not opened yet.
I tried to play with Tipsy
but she declined and gave me a telling off!
I just let her go inside to sleep
and I sunbathed.

Friday 6.2.2015

It's far too cold to travel out much.
I just stay in watching the very cold birds on the feeding station.
 Tipsy stays in keeping warm.

January 15th 2015

It is very cold here now and the temperature declines to minus two or three each night.  So, hunting during the day is much more fun.  Here is my first catch of the year.

Here is a picture of Tipsy at the time of my hunt!
